As long as I'm on the topic of music, let me take this opportunity to disagree with Matt Yglesias on the pressing subject of the Black Eyed Peas' latest single. "My Humps" is evil. It is wrong. There is nothing likable about it. It basically consists of canned, cheesy synth music, with excruciatingly painful, range-challenged, repetitive "singing" from Fergie, the group's female vocalist. And this is from someone who actually enjoyed some of the group's earlier stuff. "Let's Get Retarded" and "Hey Mama" are perfectly good, if more than slightly offensive, party songs. "Where is the Love?" more than fulfilled its purpose as an anti-war tune made for public consumption. But "My Humps" is just terrible on so many levels. I'm against censorship, but this song is making me reconsider. It is physically harmful.

That's why I never listen to the radio. I'm glad I've never heard that song and I'd like to keep it that way. I actually liked "Hey Mama" after it was used in the iPod commercial.
